Selections is Chicago's most trusted consignment boutique for authentic designer apparel
available through resale. Since 1991, Selections has won the trust and support of many of the most fashionable women in
Chicago's business, civic, and philanthropic community. These
relationships have enabled Selections to offer designer clothing and
footwear in the most current styles at a great value to its many loyal
shoppers.
Testimonials
Customers love Selections for many reasons. We often hear from our
shoppers that Selections bears no resemblance to a consignment shop.
They state that the apparel is too good, the racks are too organized,
the displays too stylish, and the staff too helpful for Selections to
be considered a resale shop.

History
Selections was founded in 1991 by Alexa Winsberg. Alexa was a pioneer in opening one of Chicago's first designer resale shops in Chicago. Over the ensuing years Alexa built her business by gaining the trust of consignors
and shoppers with her low-key but welcoming style and eye for fashion.
Sadly, Alexa passed in late 2007, but Selections remained a family
business when it came under the ownership of her niece and husband. Selections' new owners remain committed to preserving and
building the legacy that Alexa created. This includes continually
earning the trust of Selections' many outstanding consignors, featuring
high quality apparel in excellent condition at fair prices, and
treating all customers with warmth, honesty, and respect.
Our Friends
Selections is proud to be a trusted consignment partner of Bottomless Closet. The mission of Bottomless Closet is to support
women in transition by empowering them to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Bottomless Closet provides professional clothing, job readiness, and post- employment training and coaching
services to women on assistance and working-poor women. Many of its clients are single heads of households who are forced to
choose between the necessity of food and shelter for themselves and
their children or purchasing appropriate clothes for a job interview. Since 1991, Bottomless Closet has filled this vital need for these
women at no charge.
Bottomless Closet holds clothing intake (shoes, purses and
accessories) the second Saturday of each month (except in September and January) at its
435 N. LaSalle St. location. Clothing must be in good condition, in
season and on hangers. Donations are tax-deductible.

Selections is happy to
donate suitable unsold consignment items to the Glass Slipper Project. The Glass
Slipper Project collects new and almost-new formal
dresses and
accessories and provides them free of charge to Chicago high school
students who are unable to purchase their
own prom attire. Glass Slipper "boutiques" provide each student with
individual assistance from a volunteer "personal shopper" as she shops
for the dress of her dreams. To date, Glass Slipper Project has helped
more than 10,000
young women attend their proms in style!
